Britax B-Agile specification, dimensions and fold
First of all, I would like to introduce B-Agile to anyone who hasn’t got a chance of learning about this stroller yet. B-Agile is a convertible stroller weighing only 18 lbs. This is somewhat heavier than the weight of a regular umbrella stroller, however, B-Agile can still be used with an infant car seat. This is a great advantage of this stroller and the manufacturer offers you three options.
There are two versions of the Britax B-Agile travel system differing from each other with their infant car seats. The first option includes B-Safe 35, whereas the second one has B-Safe 35 Elite. Both of them are using a special car seat base. I will give you more information about these travel systems in the section on the B-Agile seating options. So far, I just want you to know purchasing an entire travel system of B-Agile is a very good idea as it offers you a really nice price for the stroller and infant car seat. Check Amazon for the current prices of these travel systems and you will see an infant car seat sold as a part of a travel system is actually cheaper than the one sold separately.
Obviously, the parents of the children who have already outgrew the age of using travel systems and can safely travel in a toddler seat, are not interested in buying both a stroller and an infant car seat. Still, they can buy only the Britax B-Agile stroller that is available on the market as a separate option. Note buying only the B-Agile stroller is also a good idea for parents who have already got any of the Britax infant car seats. The stroller has special Click & Go adapters allowing you to set any model of the Britax car seat on the stroller’s frame. Thus, it shouldn’t be necessarily B-Safe 35 or B-Safe 35 Elite.
Furthermore, you won’t need to buy an entire B-Agile travel system even if you have got an infant car seat of another brand. There are multiple popular car seats for babies of other manufacturers compatible with this model of a stroller. If you purchase a special multi-adapter, you will be able to use B-Agile with such widespread infant car seat models as Peg Perego Primo Viaggio, Chicco Key Fit 30, Chicco Key Fit, Graco Snugride 32 and Graco Snugride 35. The Cybex, Nuna and Maxi-Cosi seats are also compatible with B-Agile, yet, you will need to get a separate adapter for a seat of each of these brands.
Finally, let’s look at the dimensions of this stroller. An unfolded stroller has the following size: 38.5″ x 23″ x 40.5″ (L x W x H). If you press a special button located on the stroller’s side and pull its strap that can be found inside the toddler’s seat, the stroller will quickly and smoothly fold making a construction of the following dimensions: 29″ x 23″ x 11″ (L x W x H). As far as you can see, its fold is quite compact which is definitely a great thing as it can be easily transported inside a car trunk. The strap used for folding the stroller will also help you to carry the fold. Note the button you need to push for folding the stroller is actually a safety release button and I like the fact Britax has added it to B-Agile very much. The fact is it doesn’t allow especially active children to fold the stroller themselves which might be rather dangerous. Britax B-Agile stroller: seating options
As I have already told you, there are three options available to parents. If you wish to buy an entire travel system, you can choose from two versions, otherwise, you can get only a stroller that is still compatible with all Britax infant car seats. I would like to start the review of the seating options available in Britax B-Agile with the description of its toddler seat as each of the possible options include this element.
Toddler seat
The toddler seat designed for B-Agile has a quite large capacity which is certainly its advantage as it allows parents to use the stroller during several years. Thus, the maximum weight B-Agile can carry is 55 lbs which is really great. Unfortunately, the seat is not recommended for newborn babies. You can start using it only when your child develops the neck muscles. Still, it doesn’t mean you can purchase Britax B-Agile as your first stroller as it can be used as a travel system.
Even though the toddler seat of B-Agile is not suitable for newborn babies, it is a fantastic seating option for older children.
First of all, the stroller can be reclined to multiple positions including a near-lying one. Undeniably, such a position is the most suitable one for napping no matter how old your child is. Do not think this feature is a standard one since there are many strollers on the market that can’t be reclined flat. Reclining can be done by using special straps which can be found on the seat’s backrest. A fully reclined position has an extra advantage such as a mesh window on the backrest. Undeniably, this one is great for providing ventilation especially during hot summer days. The only thing I am a bit disappointed about is a lack of possibility of reclining the leg rest of the seat. I assume it could have provided children with extra comfort taking into consideration the toddler seat is suitable for children of different age.
Fortunately, the 5-point harness available in the stroller is adjustable. Thus, you will be able to set it exactly to the size needed by your child.
There is no need to explain the importance of a good canopy as this essential part of a stroller is designed not only for sun protection but also for the protection against winds. When it comes to B-Agile, I am sure, you will like its canopy since its sunshade is really large. If you unfold its entire constriction, you will hide your baby from head to foot. Note the material of the canopy is featured with a quite strong SPF that is UV 50+.
Don’t be afraid of your child feeling uncomfortable because of the large coverage of the canopy. It has a quite big window which will definitely provide your kid with a massive air flow. The only thing I wish were different is the closure of this window. B-Agile is using Velcro and, if you have already used this one in a stroller, you are perfectly aware of its noisiness that is surely capable of disturbing a napping child.
The B-Safe 35 infant car seat
Purchasing an entire Britax travel system is a really good idea as it will give you not only a stroller but also an infant car seat of the highest quality. One of the options is B-Safe 35 suitable for children weighing at least 4 lbs and of a maximum weight equal to 35 lbs. The maximum height of a child can be 32” in order to travel in this car seat safely. The weight of this seat is 10 lbs which makes it one of the most lightweight infant car seats available on the market.
This infant car seat has a base that must be set in your car. You won’t need to detach it any time you wish to take an infant car seat out, so you shouldn’t worry about this aspect of using seats with bases. Note, generally, the infant car seats using bases are more secure than the ones without this additional element.
B-Safe 35 is using an advanced technology known as SafeCell Impact Protection. The base of the seat is a part of the technology and its another element is a special steel frame. The padding of the seat is filled with foam and it is really deep offering your baby an ergonomic seating position with maximum protection. Note, this model of a seat has one layer for side protection. Such a construction of an infant car seat makes it really safe during a collision.
The B-Safe 35 Elite infant car seat
As you can guess, this infant car seat used in Britax B-Agile/B-Safe 35 Elite Travel System is a new version of B-Safe 35. B-Safe 35 Elite is also suitable for children between 4 and 35 lbs and of the maximum height of 32”. It has SafeCell Impact Protection as well. This means B-Safe 35 Elite has a base absorbing the impact and has a steel frame.
Still, this infant car seat is not completely the same as its predecessor. For example, it uses two layers for side protection. The first one is a deep shell made of foam like the one you can find in B-Safe 35 and the second one is an additional layer for head protection. The extra protection features come with additional weight – B-Safe 35 Elite weights 11.5 lbs.

I have just presented the three options offered by Britax to the parents interested in their B-Agile stroller. As far as you can see, the seating positions of this stroller and its travel system are really great, however, you should take several other elements into consideration. Now, it’s time to look at the wheels, brakes, a handlebar and storage options of this appealing stroller!
Wheels and brakes
Undoubtedly, the weight of a stroller is a crucial feature demanding the quality of the ride, albeit, your comfort also depends on the state of its wheels. When it comes to Britax B-Agile, you should be aware of the fact this stroller is really great for city use with its three wheels. They are made of plastic and filled with foam. Due to this technology, you will be able to push the stroller over grass and uneven terrains.
Extra comfort during a ride is also guaranteed by all-wheel suspension. Thus, you can push the stroller smoothly while your child will have a nap. Still, do not be too demanding as this model is not an all-terrain one.
The three-wheel technology used in this stroller is surely great for its maneuverability. With this stroller, you will easily get through crowds and tight alleys of shops. You will be able to navigate the stroller with one hand which is hardly possible with the majority of full-size strollers.
You will definitely like the stroller’s single action brakes which can be activated easily even if you are wearing flip flops.
Handlebar
The B-Agile handlebar is probably its major issue of concern as it can’t be adjusted to the height of a parent. On the one hand, the height below the ground it is set to is 40.5” which actually makes it comfortable both for petite parents and parents of average height. On the other hand, I am really not sure if it will be convenient for parents of over 6” height.
Still, the handlebar itself is quite ergonomic due to a generous foam layer.
Storage options
Certainly, the major storage option of every stroller is its basket. B-Agile has a large basket suitable for keeping the maximum weight of 10 lbs. You can easily fill it with all the necessary things for a day trip including a large diaper bag, a blanket or clothes.
What I particularly like about the basket of this model is the fact it can be accessed easily from the back even when the toddler seat is set to a lying position. Believe me, many strollers won’t give you such an opportunity.
Smaller things such as keys, wallets or a mobile phone can be stored in a large pocket which can be found on the back side of the canopy. I find this place for storing necessities quite handy.
Britax B-Agile travel system: which color will you choose?
I have told you the major difference between the two travel systems of B-Agile is a model of an infant car seat used in these sets. Actually, there is one more feature that is the color of a travel set. The fact is you will be able to choose from different color versions depending on the travel system you would like to purchase.
Britax B-Agile B-Safe 35 Travel System offers five color versions. They are steel, black, red, meadow and blue. These colors are used in the canopies of an infant car seat and a toddler seat as well as in their padding. Pay your attention to the fact the B-Safe infant car seat is sold in the same color as the stroller of the travel system.

Undeniably, Britax B-Agile is a great stroller created for maximum comfort of parents and children. It definitely has many attractive features, albeit there are several things which can be improved. Yet, if you are not a very high person, I suppose the time spent with this stroller will give you exclusively positive feelings. Another important condition for a positive experience with B-Agile is being a city-dweller as it is a wonderful stroller for cities, yet, it is certainly not a good one for country trips and it is definitely not a jogging model despite its three wheels (best running strollers can be found here). Providing you have already got a Britax infant car seat or any other one mentioned in the review or you just do not any at all, you can buy just a B-Agile stroller.
